Rachel Thorell

Hello! My Name Is Rachel Thorell

With over 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, I bring a deep passion for helping people achieve their homeownership dreams—whether it’s their first home, a luxury estate, or planning for the future through a reverse mortgage. My journey into mortgage lending began with a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through financial empowerment. I quickly discovered that guiding clients through one of the most important decisions of their lives—financing a home—was something I was passionate about.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for delivering expert advice and personalized service across a wide range of lending needs. What sets me apart is my commitment to education—I ensure that my clients fully understand their options so they can make informed, confident financial decisions. I believe in building long-term relationships, not just closing loans. Many of my clients become friends, and I often have the honor of helping multiple generations within the same family.

I pride myself on offering the highest level of service, marked by consistent communication, transparency, and a dedication to getting things done right the first time. My approach is rooted in genuine care, deep industry knowledge, and a desire to simplify what can often be a complex process.

Beyond mortgages, I am deeply committed to community service and humanitarian work. I currently serve on several nonprofit boards, including:

  • Primary Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Board for Cancer, Brain Tumor, and Transplant (4 years), helping ensure families’ voices are heard in shaping care for critically ill children.
  • Children of Ethiopia Education Fund (COEEF) (10 years), where I actively promote education for the most impoverished children in Ethiopia—especially young girls. I organize and lead annual youth humanitarian expeditions to Ethiopia and Uganda, giving young volunteers the opportunity to serve, connect, and witness the transformational power of education firsthand.
  • Builders Without Borders of Utah (7 years), an organization that builds homes for homeless families in Mexico. I’ve participated in and helped lead home-building projects, where volunteers come together to construct homes for those in desperate need.

My greatest joy, however, is my family. I am a proud mother of nine children, eight of whom are adopted, and I’ve had the privilege of being a foster mom to over 29 children for the past 17 years. These experiences have taught me patience, resilience, and compassion—qualities that influence every interaction I have, professionally and personally. In my spare time, you’ll find me traveling the world, seeking out new cultures and perspectives that continually inspire me.

Whether you’re buying your first home, building your dream home, or refinancing to reach new goals, I’m here to make the process smooth, successful, and even enjoyable.
